Emerging viruses spill over into humans from animal reservoir species to cause novel human diseases.
The CVRG is a multi-investigator (Baric, Gralinski, and Sheahan) research group focused on the pathobiology of emerging virus families with epidemic and pandemic potential such as coronavirus, flavivirus, filovirus and norovirus.
The CVRG’s goal is to better understand the biology of emerging viral pathogens and develop new vaccines and therapies to stop them.
